Over the past week, there has been an average of 171,376 cases per day nationwide, an increase of 54 percent from the average two weeks earlier. As of Monday, there have been more than 12.3 million positive cases and at least 256,755 Covid-related deaths in the U.S., according to The New York Times. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said more than 1 million Covid cases were reported in the U.S. Henry Walke, the CDC’s Covid-19 incident manager, said the agency recommended “against travel during the Thanksgiving period.” ![]() The surge in weekend travelers came a day after the CDC issued its warning against holiday travel.
